About

Welcome to the informationsystemsguide.com. When I started the journey of starting an information systems website I thought I had a good idea of the topics that I might cover. However as I have studied more and written more I’m beginning to see that this is a very broad topic. One day I’ll be talking about a certain piece of technology (like VOIP) and the next day I’ll be discussing an accounting revenue cycle. The bottom line is that systems is a very wide topic and expect to get a little bit of everything on this webpage.

This page is evolving more into a crm consulting guide. I’ll try to cover the most important topics on customer relationship management. I’ll also try and provide the best resources on the subject possible. I think that most people understand the importance of managing relationships with customers. It has been proven time and time again that maintaining customers is much less costly than getting new ones. Building relationships of trust with your customers takes time and caution. If you don’t know anything about them, their likes, dislikes, etc., then it will be very difficult to build a solid relationship.

One last quick note on managing customer relationships. A lot of the literature out there on the subject claims that you need to exceed your customers expectations. We here at the CRM Consulting Guide strongly disagree with this literature. Many a customer has been lost because one time their expectation was exceeded and then the next time their expectation was simply met. Once you get customers used to having their expectations exceeded every time they come to your business, they feel let down on the times when you simply meet expectations. The goal is consistency and meeting expectations.

  1. Hi, I am interested in finding information about which small to mid-sized CRM consulting firms are considered to be the best to work for. Can you point me to any URLS that might list the best CRM firms to work for? Thanks, Paul
